Brian's Priorities
We have a good thing going here.

Brian's belief in a great community is rooted in three ideas that build on each other:
Best Spaces
Our spaces are shared areas that create opportunities for businesses and people to thrive. This includes how we plan, how we create meaningful public spaces, and develop shared spaces that create connections within our community.

To do this, we must carefully plan for future growth, involve citizens and protect downtown, respect our citizen-driven land use plan and zoning code, activate our transportation plan while supporting larger initiatives like a 441-15 connector, and enhance our sidewalk, bike, and pedestrian infrastructure.
Best Places
Our places grow out of our spaces. A community with well planned streets, sidewalks, infrastructure and parks is more likely to have high quality, well capitalized businesses and not-for-profits that will thrive over time. When you have exceptional spaces and high quality places, the best people will follow.

To do this, we must foster private enterprise and support local businesses, take care of the entrepreneurs who front our historic Main Street, continue to support and grow the businesses in our industrial area, support community institutions like OCAF and ESP, and continue to create efficiency in local government.
Best People
Watkinsville citizens are educated, engaged, and care deeply about their community. As our community grows, we need to make sure our next generation of citizens make time to learn about Watkinsville’s past and invest in its future.

To do this, we must focus on what makes Watkinsville unique by ensuring we create opportunities for all of our citizens to connect in meaningful ways. We must also maintain our already high standards for homes and new communities, approach the Mayor’s office and relationships with others with respect and decency, and continue to ensure that the Watkinsville Police Department is one of the finest in Georgia, if not America, with wise investments in talent, equipment, and technology.
